This is a voyeuristic glimpse into artistic process. I want to pry into the minds of artists I admire.
I’m a visual artist based in Seattle—drawing is my primary medium and I’ve always loved peering into the processes of other artists. Sketchbooks are arguably the most intimate and vulnerable of spaces, holding space for the weird ideas, the fresh ideas, the fleeting imagery that perhaps will only ever exist in this liminal place. It’s somewhat of a guilty pleasure to delve into these private places. I consider sketching a loose term; as a text-based artist, I don’t maintain a proper sketchbook myself. Sketching often transcends the Moleskine.
